POLICE have explained why an air ambulance landed in Bradford city centre last night.
Yorkshire Air Ambulance's (YAS) emergency helicopter was spotted hovering above City Park at around 8.45pm on Tuesday before it came to a stop in the Mirror Pool.
West Yorkshire Police has now confirmed the air ambulance was called to an assault on Sunbridge Road.
A man, 20, has been arrested in connection with the incident where the victim was taken to hospital with an injury to his arm.
A police cordon is currently in place this morning on Sunbridge Road.
YAS also confirmed several ambulance resources attended a private address in the city centre.

A spokesperson for the force said: "Police are investigating after reports of an assault on Sunbridge Road, Bradford.
"Officers were called at 20.31 yesterday evening to reports a man had been assaulted.
"The victim was taken to hospital with an injury to his arm.
"A 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and remains in police custody at this time.
"Enquiries are ongoing by Bradford CID
"A scene is in place whilst forensics enquiries are ongoing.
