Youngsters had a whale of a time on National Book Day last week, and we loved looking at your pictures.
Sidrah Ahmed, a pupil at Frizinghall Primary School, dressed up as Mary Poppins. She chose it as it is "a pretty outfit that reflects a strong character."
An avid reader, Sidrah's favourite books are the Secret Agents Jack and Max Stalwart series, as "they carry a lot of suspense."
Her brother Hassan Ali Ahmed dressed as Super Mario as he represents strength and resilience, Hassan, who has spina bifida, loves reading. "His inability to walk doesn't stop him being a strong hero," says his mum Shaida Khan. Hassan particularly enjoys "anything in the Biff, Chip and Kipper series."
The Greatest Showman was the choice for Hunter, a pupil at Newhall Park Primary School. Hunter loves dressing up and says his favourite books are the Dog Man series.
Lily, who attends Swain House Primary School, looked very much like Alice in Wonderland - one of her favourite books. She said she "loves having fun with her school friends" on World Book Day.
Zara Jennings and her brother Harley dressed up as characters from The Mad Hatters' Tea Party in Alice in Wonderland. The siblings - pupils of Lidget Green Primary School and the Co-op Academy Princeville respectively - love dressing up and getting into character.
