RESIDENTS in Bradford are set to take part in cooking on a budget classes thanks to a charity grant.
Sandale Community Development Trust has received £5,000 from The Maximus Local Impact Fund.
Founded by Andy Walsh in 2008, Sandale Community Development Trust began as a resident’s group in a former meals-on-wheels building in Woodside.
Now based at Sandale Community Hub in Buttershaw, staff run a variety of different activities to support the community.
This includes a food pantry and community shop, older people's lunch club, youth clubs and training courses.
The trust also provides free hot meals for people in the Bradford South area as well as a breakfast club.
Sandale Community Development Trust's new weekly 'Cooking on a Budget' classes will be free and open to all.
The funding will help the Trust ensure they have enough ingredients and staff members to run the sessions throughout the year.
Launched in March as part of The Maximus' Restart Scheme, the Local Impact Fund provides grants to charities and community organisations across South and West Yorkshire.
The funds go towards causes that will direct benefit to the local community whilst investing in the region’s economic recovery.
