POLICE have revealed a man died in a crash earlier today.
Officers were called to the Bank in Eccleshill at 11:49am today to reports of a collision involving one vehicle.
It is believed the driver suffered a medical episode and died at the scene.
The Bank, off Harrogate Road, was closed off for a large part of the day but has now been reopened.
An ambulance vehicle was spotted at the scene and later in the afternoon police's Road Traffic Collision Unit were investigating.
This included a van driving up the Bank, from the Harrogate Road end, and then coming to an abrupt halt in the road, just before Our Lady & St Brendans Catholic Primary School, in what looked to be a reenactment of the crash.
One officer was also moving around with a camera and a tripod within the cordon.
A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police, said this evening: "Police were called at 11.49 to reports of a one vehicle collision on The Bank, Bradford.
"It’s believed the driver had a medical episode behind the wheel. He sadly died at the scene.
"The road has since reopened."
