A long-awaited fusion style restaurant will bring the flavours of Japan and Brazil to Bradford city centre.

SakkuSamba, a restaurant concept by Estabulo at The Broadway shopping centre, is set to open its doors on June 21.

The ‘immersive’ restaurant will offer an all-you-can-eat grill - including Brazilian grilled meats and sushi - as well as noodle dishes, bao buns, and pichana, Brazil’s favourite cut of beef.

There will be Samba dancers and DJ sets on every weekend while customers can take photos in the selfie box.

Bradford Telegraph and Argus:

Manager Zack Isaak, director at SakkuSamba, told the Telegraph & Argus: “It’s very modern and chic.

“There’s not much going on in Bradford with this concept - we’ll be the first one and, to the standard and way we’ve done it, it will be amazing.

“Every weekend we’ll have dancers and DJs.”

SakkuSamba says it will put customers “in full control” of their experience by letting them order food via tablets.

“You can just keep picking out everything you like,” he said. “You’re in full control of your experience, you can dictate if you want everything at once or slow it down.”

The SakkuSamba manager added: “Bradford is an amazing place.

“It will bring more attention to Bradford and there’s a lot going on in Bradford anyway. It has become the city everybody goes to eat.

“They won’t be disappointed.”

Although Japanese and Brazilian may initially seem an unusual mix of culinary styles, Brazil is home to the largest Japanese population outside of Japan.

Estabulo announced it would be opening its first Bradford chain in early 2020, shortly before the pandemic shut down businesses across the country.

The company’s new SakkuSamba concept proved so popular in Manchester that it led to a change in the plans for the Bradford restaurant.

Estabulo has also set up a central kitchen Thornton Road Industrial Estate, where ingredients can be prepared before being sent off to its various restaurants.

Speaking previously, Ian Ward, General Manager at The Broadway, said: “We’re delighted that the unit on Charles Street will be imminently opening.

“SakkuSamba will be a welcome addition to The Broadway; its unique concept of Japanese-Brazilian cuisine wrapped up in an immersive dining concept will be hugely popular with the shoppers and residents of Bradford.

"SakkuSamba is an exciting new restaurant that joins the wealth of eateries at The Broadway and it further strengthens our commitment to bring new propositions to Bradford.”
