The Archbishop of Canterbury will visit Bradford to preach at a memorial service for a former Bishop of Bradford who was his wife's father.
Dr Rowan Williams will be in the district on Tuesday, July 8, and Wednesday, July 9, for a memorial service for the Right Reverend Geoffrey Paul, who was Bishop of Bradford from 1981 until he died in 1983.
The Bishop was the father of his wife Jane, whom he married at St Barnabas Church, Heaton, in July 1981. He walked Jane to the church from Bishopscroft, the Bishop's nearby residence, and the couple spent their honeymoon in Haworth.
The current Bishop of Bradford, the Right Reverend David James, said: "I hope that many people from across the diocese will come to remember Bishop Geoffrey to give thanks to God for his life and to support the family."
The memorial service will take place at Bradford Cathedral on Tuesday, July 8, at 7pm.
