POLICE do not believe there were any suspicious circumstances that caused a massive fire at a recycling centre near Dewsbury.
Approximately 100 firefighters and 15 pumps and three aerial ladders were called to the scene to the Arthur Brook Ltd recycling centre at the Ravensthorpe Industrial Estate on Low Mill Lane, after the fire was first reported at 11.14pm last night.
A spokesperson from the fire service said the main pile of recycling product, some machinery and stacks of scrap metal were on fire and spread to adjacent buildings.
But crews worked quickly to contain the fire from spreading to other buildings.
The police, however, do not believe the cause of the fire to be suspicious.
A spokesperson for the West Yorkshire Police said: "There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances at this stage, and police continue to liaise with fire service investigators."
Warnings were issued to homes and businesses in the area to keep all doors and windows closed while crews battled the fire.
Fire crews were damping down this morning.
