THREE days of war re-enactments, displays and living history demonstrations began today when the Yorkshire Wartime Experience opened its doors for 2018.
The event, one of the biggest of its kind in the country, will feature tank rides, a chance to experience what life was like in a WW1 trench, and even a fly past by the famous Lancaster Bomber tomorrow and Sunday.
Today almost 600 schoolchildren visited the site, Hunsworth Lane just outside Cleckheaton, for the education day that allows schools to give their pupils a unique look at wartime history.
The weekend will feature 500 military vehicles, 67 re-enactment groups and 77 military and vintage stalls. There is also the largest full scale re-creation of a WW1 trenching system in the North of England.
And visitors will be entertained by 1940s themed music
The event runs from 10am to 5pm each day.
