THE biggest Eid festival in the North – the Bradford Eid Festival – was held at the weekend, to mark the end of Ramadan.
Around 36,000 people turned up at Bradford Moor Park over the two days.
Stallholders from all across the country came to take part in the Bazaar and Foodcourt sections at the event, including Glasgow, Birmingham and Luton.
The festival, now in its fifth year, also hosted a funfair, as well as Nasheeds In The Park concert on the Sunday with a number of special guests.
Volunteer co-ordinator Aqeel Wahwed said: “We want to give something back to the city we grew up in – that is Bradford.”
But, despite the festival’s name, Mr Wahwed reiterated that the main focus for organisers was creating a family fun day for people from all walks of life and all faiths to go along to.
He said: “We are called Bradford Eid Festival and it is after the event but it’s about those core values. That’s what we’re about.”
