SCHOOL drama Ackley Bridge has been filming in Bradford.
Scenes for the Channel 4 series, about a multi-cultural school, were filmed at Bradford College earlier this week and City Park (pictured) today.
Filmed largely in Halifax, Ackley Bridge is set in an academy school in a fictional northern mill town. The first series saw two schools in a segregated British and Pakistani community merge, and the show explores the challenges of prejudice and cultural issues in the school environment and surrounding community.
The popular series stars Jo Joyner and Paul Nicholls and several youngsters from local theatre schools also appear in the cast. As the Telegraph & Argus recently revealed, Bradford singer/actress Kimberley Walsh is set to appear in the new series, which got underway this week.
Also filming in the city is Gentleman Jack, Sally Wainwright's new series about 19th century landowner Anne Lister. A Little Germany street was closed for filming this week.
