TOWNGATE Fisheries in Idle has been nominated for two accolades in the National Fish and Chip Awards.
The shop is a contender in the ‘Healthy Eating Fish and Chips’ category and the ‘From Field To Frier’ section.
Towngate won the Healthy Eating award two years ago. Owner Mark Drummond said: “We have been a winner before but never been in two categories before - we are really delighted.
“There has never been a winner of the same category twice, as far as I’m aware. We are really hopeful we can go on and win this award.”
Judges will visit the shop in the coming weeks, before winners are announced on January 26.
