A MYSTERY benefactor has donated £500 to Baildon Trinity Dynamos junior football club to help replace 40 footballs and kit stolen from its clubhouse.

The retired gentleman asked not to be identified and handed the cheque in to the Telegraph & Argus Bradford office today and simply said: “I don’t hold with thieves.”

Club chairman David Cockroft said: “We are overwhelmed and grateful.

“Parents, friends, local businesses and even complete strangers have come to the rescue of our beloved junior football club.

“It’s restored our faith in human kindness and we would like to say a huge thank you to each and every one of you.

"We have now been able to purchase replacement equipment which means that training will be held as normal this weekend and the kids won’t be disrupted by this awful event.”
