A BOY aged 13 has been reported to Bradford's youth offending team after being caught riding an off-road motorbike on the road.
The bike was seized shortly before noon today after a member of public contacted police about the bike being ridden on the road by two youths in the Florence Street area of Laisterdyke, Bradford.
Police spoke to the rider, a 13-year-old local youth, and warned him about the dangers of riding on the road.
A police spoksman said: "The rider will have his details sent to Bradford’s youth offending team for the appropriate action to be taken regarding the incident and the bike can be collected by its owner once the recovery and storage fees have been paid."
"When spoken to by the officer, the rider claimed to be testing the bike out after some repairs.
"While this is often a good idea after mechanical work, the location used by him certainly was not – especially while taking it in turns.
"The youth will learn a hard lesson on this occasion but should be thankful that he and no-one else was injured as a result of his behaviour.
"Had he been confronted by another motorist, his lack of driving knowledge may have led to a serious collision."
