PASSENGERS got their first taste of the the weekday morning rush hour at Apperley Bridge’s new £10 million train station today.
Two trains per hour, between Leeds and Bradford Forster Square or Skipton, will be calling at the new site between Monday and Saturday and hourly on Sundays.
The station opened to passengers yesterday and commuters used ot for the first time today - although not many were at the station early this morning.
Stepping off a train from Leeds to Apperley Bridge, commuter Kevin Durkin, 35, of Leeds, said: “It’s great. It’s now one stop from Leeds for me as I work in Apperley Bridge.
“It’s a pretty big station. It’s been a while but it will be easier for my business contacts to travel to see us too.”
