DELAYS of up to 50 minutes are expected after a lorry fire on the eastbound M62 this afternoon.
Police and the fire brigade were called to a lorry on fire on the slip road leading to the Hartshead Moor services at just after 2.30pm.
Two lanes were closed on the eastbound M62 between junction 25 A644 (Brighouse) and junction 26 M606/A58 (Chain Bar) as fire crews put out the blaze.
These two lanes have since re-opened but the slip road remains closed as the lorry is moved.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated. Fire crews from Rastrick, Batley and Cleckheaton attended the scene. The lorry was carrying scrap metal.
The congestion went back to junction 23, A640/A643 (Huddersfield).
Traffic England website has reported that normal traffic conditions expected from 10pm tonight.
