POLICE investigating a knife attack on a garage mechanic in Girlington have arrested a 46-year-old man.
The suspect was being held in custody last night, West Yorkshire Police confirmed, after being arrested on suspicion of assault.
Officers started an investigation after being called to Girlington Motors in Roundthorn Place on Monday following a confrontation between staff and another man.
That resulted in a teenage apprentice being taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary for treatment to a knife wound to his chest.
Colleagues said the knifeman had arrived at the garage and engaged in a dispute about some work previously carried out on his car before walking away, leaving one member of staff injured.
Police taped off one area of the garage and the street outside while a forensic examination was carried out of the crime scene.
