A MEETING over the future of a post office will be held on Friday.

Currently based in the general store off Main Street, Pool-in-Wharfedale, Post Office Ltd is considering moving the branch to a new location – with the Shell petrol station the favoured option.

This has come as a shock to Paula and Gary McNeil, who run the existing set-up and – with the backing of residents and local politicians –they are calling for the plan to be abandoned. MP Greg Mulholland (Lib Dem, Leeds North West) and Councillor Barry Anderson (Con, Adel & Wharfedale, pictured) will make the case to Post Office officials at the meeting.
