Police investigating the theft of payroll data from Morrisons supermarket have arrested an employee.
The man was arrested this morning on suspicion of making or supplying an article for use in fraud.
Detectives launched an investigation, and the Bradford-based supermarket giant began an urgent review of its internal data security, after the Telegraph & Argus informed the company of the alleged theft of confidential data.
Detective Chief Inspector Gary Hooks, of West Yorkshire Police, said today: "An employee of Morrisons has been arrested in Leeds this morning in connection with an investigation into the theft of data from the company. He is currently in custody."
