Thornton post office in Bradford is to close for refurbishment this month.
The Kipping Lane branch will get three screened serving positions and will have longer opening hours.
It will close for the work at 5.30pm on March 27, before re-opening at 1pm on April 14.
Post Office area manager Julie Kemp said: “We understand how important Post Office services are to the people of Thornton and we are confident that this new modern service will meet the needs of the local community and secure services for the future.
“This modernisation is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office, and marks a commitment to no more branch closure programmes.”
The branch’s new opening hours will be 9am until 5.30pm, Monday to Saturday, offering customers an extra five hours service on Saturdays.
