The organisation responsible for promoting the South Pennines is encouraging people to step out using its walking routes.
Pennine Prospects has devised a number of routes across the region, including several on the moors above Haworth, Oxenhope, Silsden, and Riddlesden.
The website walkridesouthpennines.co.uk also features many cycling and horse riding routes in the same wild landscapes of Lancashire and West Yorkshire.
In addition, Pennine Prospects is publicising special events over the Christmas and New Year period.
There will be a short guided walk for families, entitled Fun Hat and Wig Walk, setting off from Bingley Arts Centre on January 1 at 12.30pm.
A guided walk taking in the history of Luddendenfoot – near Hebden Bridge – sets off from the Civic Centre, Station Road, Luddendenfoot, on January 5 at 2pm. The cost is £3 per person.
The website offers almost 30 walking routes in the Airedale and Bingley areas including Cullingworth, Denholme, Ilkley Moor, East Morton, Silsden, St Ives and Kildwick.
There are 17 routes across Haworth, Brontë Country and the Forest of Trawden, including walks taking in Oakworth, Haworth, Stanbury, Oxenhope and Keighley Moor.
Each walk includes details of distance, difficulty, toilets and public transport routes, as well as a downloadable map.
