Members of the Hawksworth branch of the Yorkshire Countrywomen’s Association have celebrated 30 years of the association and the branch.
The committee served a celebration tea and a Pearl Anniversary cake was cut by the chairman, Sheila Inglesent, and secretary, Mary Bowes.
Following tea and a raffle of Yorkshire goods, speaker Isobel Stirk, who lectures in 19th Century literature, gave a talk about the lives of the Bronte family.
Next month's meeting will take place on Monday, September 9, when the speaker will be Robert Johnston, talking on 19th Century Scottish novels and Robbie Burns.
