Staff from the American football academy that trained Bradford City star Nahki Wells will fly over from Boston to watch their former student’s historic day at Wembley.
A group from the Richmond International Academic and Football Academy (RIASA) will fly to London for the weekend to watch the Bermudan striker play in the Capital One Cup final against Swansea on Sunday.
Wells joined the academy’s football programme in August 2010 before signing for Carlisle United in December 2010.
RIASA international football director Brian Haley said staff wanted to congratulate him on his success so far in his professional career.
“We are all proud of Nahki at RIASA,” he said.
“While at RIASA, Nahki showed commitment, dedication and a positive attitude.”
One member of staff at the academy, life-long City fan and former Bradford resident Darren Lyons, will be joining the group for the trip.
He said: “I will be flying in just for the weekend, and fingers crossed for a win!”
