With the unveiling of the Manningham Masterplan comes yet another signpost that Bradford is committed to the future.
As Tim Whitfield of Bradford Council's regeneration and housing department comments, though this might be the smallest of the many masterplans currently in varying stages of development, it is - in the eyes of him and many more people - one of the most important.
Much good work has already been done in the Manningham area, not least the very impressive rejuvenation of Lister's Mill into high class apartments and the excitement surrounding the proposed World Mile of shops reaching out from the city centre up White Abbey Road.
It is an area that has not had the best reputation it could have, due in part to the violence of the riots five years ago.
But as proof of Bradford's commitment to regeneration, Manningham is an example that no stone will be left unturned in a bid to create a new, improved district.
As important as the work is that is being carried out in the city centre, the message is clearly that masterplans are for all of Bradford.
That efforts are being made to upgrade and improve the areas people live in as well as the shopping and business quarters should give us all hope that regeneration is not just about buzzwords, but about making a better Bradford for us all.
