A Cullingworth butcher swept the board in a sausage-making competition, scooping first, second and third prizes, plus the overall championship at Countryside Live in Harrogate.
Ellisons Butchers won the awards for its free-range Cumberland sausage which took first prize in the speciality sausage class, before going on to be crowned supreme champion and being awarded the Yorkshire Agricultural Society Championship Rosette.
The shop’s traditional pork sausage was runner-up in class, with its beef, horseradish and mushroom sausage placed third in the non-pork sausage class.
Ellisons also recently came third with its speciality Toulouse sausage at the 2010 Great Yorkshire Pork Pie, Sausage & Products Competition in Bradford.
Earlier this year, the shop’s traditional thin pork sausage was highly commended in a national ‘Champion of Champions’ sausage-making competition in London.
Butcher John Ellison said: “All our pork sausages are made with meat from Yorkshire-born and raised pigs and we are over the moon with our continuing run of sizzling successes in the awards arena, notably out two latest home county accolades.”
