SALTAIRE, best of the rest in the fledgling Premier Division table on 27 points behind Otley, Collingham and Adel, were involved in one of the matches of the day in the Aire-Wharfe League.
They chose to bat at Rawdon and made a daunting 287-6, with Ihsan Ihsanullah scoring 106 not off 102 deliveries.
Saltaire were 136-6 when skipper Sajad Ali joined him at the crease, and they proceeded to add 151 unbroken, with Ali finishing on 63 not out from 51 balls.
The visitors were favourites when Rawdon lost their sixth wicket at 176. but stands of 51 and 41 put the hosts in the picture.
A sensational innings from Aussie Tom Wrigglesworth (137no) eventually guided Rawdon to a one-wicket win with seven balls to spare.
That was tough luck on Ali, who backed up his batting by taking the new ball and finishing with 4-75, but he was hit for the winning runs off a no-ball.
Tong Park Esholt, who narrowly survived relegation last season, have begun this season with two defeats, the most recent of which came at North Leeds.
Esholt, who are now second from bottom, started well after winning the toss, and decent contributions from their top three helped them to 128-2, but it was downhill from there as they were back in the pavilion for 192.
Skipper Dave Hester (26) dominated a first wicket stand of 33 with Jake Sali (51), who then added 67 for the second with Dru Patel (37) before batters fell at regular intervals.
Jason King (93no) anchored North Leeds’ reply and they won by five wickets in the 33rd over.
In Division One, Bolton Villas were on the wrong end of a shellacking at Beckwithshaw, who made 309-9 after winning the toss on a ground which the weather has affected more than most.
Nachiket Verlekar was the only shining light with the ball, taking 4-96 in his 15 overs, but no-one topped 30 with the bat after tea as Villas were dismissed for 121.
Calverley St Wilfrids are bottom of the pile with a solitary bowling bonus point after two matches.
They chose to bat at home to Olicanian, but were shot out for 46 inside 18 overs, with only opener Ed Whittingham (14) and Nav Panesar (10no) making double figures.
At least Calverley got their point after tea as Olicanian won by seven wickets in the seventh over, with Johnny Hudson taking 2-20.
In Division Three, Bingley Congs, who finished fourth in Division Four last term, are second in Division Three after the restructure with two wins out of two.
They dismissed Thackley for 184 at Ainsbury Avenue, which was less than looked likely when the home side were 94-1, Ryan MacMillan making 53 and Jamie Ross contributing 41.
But spinners Mohammad Adil (4-61), Neil Copping (2-18) and overseas Jarrod Klauer (3-20) pegged Thackley back impressively.
Congs paced their reply nicely, with skipper and keeper George Hicks (56) setting the tone in a five-wicket triumph.
Chris Dibb (24), Klauer (22no) and Adil (15no) were there to steady the ship late on after three wickets had fallen for three runs.
Rodley went down to defeat by 106 runs at home to Shadwell, who made 232-7 after winning the toss.
Alex Wilson (3-50) did best with the ball for the hosts, who were then dismissed for 126.
Leeds Modernians are joint bottom on six points after a walloping at Menston, who made 324-9 (Ashley Rowden 5-73) and then shot out Mods for just 77.
